Meet Robyn...
Hi, I am Robyn Brooks and I live in the beautiful harbor city of Sydney, Australia, where I was born and raised. I have a daughter and son and they are both married to wonderful partners. I am also blessed with 4 beautiful grandsons and 1 adorable granddaughter. Fortunately both families live nearby.
I have always had a passion for drawing and painting. After leaving school I studied ceramics and became a potter.
In 1985 I discovered the world of decorative painting. It was known as Folk Art here in Australia. My initial painting was in acrylics. I have also done some color pencil work.
I joined the Society of Decorative Painters in 1990 and attended my first convention in 1995. This introduced me to so many opportunities. I have made many friends and have been very fortunate to be able to visit the USA 2 or 3 times each year for the past 20 years or so.
I became a Certified Decorative Artist in 2004 in the stroke category.
I am a published artist and have a home studio. My other passion is sailing. I have a 34ft. yacht in partnership with two friends and together we participate in races on Sydney harbor.
I have studied extensively under Mary Jo Leisure MDA, Cheri Rol MDA, Michael Fulton MDA, Peggy Stodgill MDA Kerry Smith MDA, Mary Gibilisco, CDA BFA, Ann Kingslan MDA and many others.
I visit the US on a regular basis to catch up with friends and paint in Cheri Rol’s studio.
